Jharkhand Urja Vikas Nigam Limited to inaugurate its power sub-station at Sidgora

Jamshedpur, Feb. 5: Jharkhand Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (JUVNL) is all set to inaugurate its power sub-station at Sidgora. Arvind Kumar, general manager of JUVNL’s Singhbhum electricity supply area today said that the substation of 10 MW capacity ( 5 MW x 2) would be inaugurated next week.

“Chief minister Raghubar Das have been invited for inaugurating the substation. We are waiting for a final confirmation from the chief minister’s office, ” he said.

According to Kumar, apart from Birsanagar the substation project will ensure steady power in several other slums like Bagunhatu, Bagun Nagar, Bhuiyandih, Chhayanagar, Babudih and Vidyapati Nagar benefitting over 50,000 subscribers.

Officials of Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) revealed that the new substation will reduce the load on the existing substation at Birsanagar.

Notably, the Din Dayal Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDGJY)in all 1.03 lakh houses have to be electrified. The beneficiaries under the DDGJY, both people, including the BPL category will be benefited.

It is a Government of India scheme designed to provide continuous power supply to rural India. The initiative is named in honor of Indian political philosopher Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. It is one of the key initiatives of the NDA government 2014-2019.
