Jamshedpur, Dec 13: Jharkhand Education Minister Ramdas Soren conducted surprise inspections of government schools in Ghorabandha and Sakchi, expressing concerns over several shortcomings. The Ghorabandha school, located near his former residence, revealed irregular attendance among its 500 students, with only 300 attending regularly. Soren criticized the school’s administration and directed the Education Department to issue a show-cause notice to the headmaster for failing to ensure students’ attendance as per regulations.

At the CM School of Excellence in Sakchi, the principal highlighted the lack of an adequate playground, which the minister assured he would address. Following the inspections, Soren held a meeting with Education Department officials at the Circuit House, where he discussed measures to resolve issues plaguing the state’s education system.

Speaking to the media, Soren announced the recruitment of 52,000 teachers in two phases. The first phase, involving 26,000 teachers, is awaiting a Supreme Court decision. Once resolved, another 26,000 teachers will be hired in the second phase. The minister also outlined plans to open 500 CM Schools of Excellence across Jharkhand, aiming to improve the quality of education and provide better facilities for students.

Soren emphasized that the government is committed to addressing challenges in teacher recruitment and infrastructure development to ensure every child in the state receives quality education.
