Ranchi, April 23: Chief Minister Raghuvar Das said Jharkhand is changing. The state is moving on the paths of development and now instead of red tape the government has been rolled out red carpet to woo investors.
He urged investors to set up food processing units in the state which will help create maximum jobs.
Jharkhand is known all over the world as mineral rich state and now people will know it as food processing hub with an aim to bring Jharkhand on the food map of the country, said Das after inaugurating 2-day �Advantage Jharkhand- Food Processing investors Summit� at Khel Gaon in Ranchi on Thursday.
Representatives of eight states of India are participating at the summit while more than 50 stalls have been put up to promote food processing in the state.
CM Das also released souvenir at the event. On the occasion Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba underlined prospects of manure processing industry in Jharkhand. Industry Secretary Himani Pande presented the welcome address while Industry Director extended vote of thanks.
At the event Chairman of Keventer Group MK Jalan, Executive Director of ILFS A.K Krishnakumar also addressed were industrialists, farmers, representatives of business units from various parts of the country, Officers from Central and state government were present.
The summit brings the producers and processors on the same pedestal for easy information exchange with the industries department providing facilitative arrangements for the successful establishment of food processing enterprises in the sector.
‘Advantage Jharkhand – Food Processing Investors Summit 2015’, a two-day summit is organised by the state government on April 23-24.
The summit aims to sensitise investors about opportunities arising in the state in different sectors and identify key investment opportunities.
To reduce wastage of farm produce and to profile the state on the food processing map of India are other main objectives of the summit.
