Chaibasa, Aug 31: West Singhbhum police have reportedly taken three suspected members of Communist Party of India (Maoist) including two women in custody in connection with various incidents of violence and extortion, sources said.
District police officials, however, kept mum on the development.
Sources claimed that the Maoists were taken into custody from Jharjhara weekly market under Toklo police station area. CRPF’s Battalion 60 had rounded up the market on the basis of a tip-off. The accused persons were behaving mysteriously and were taken into custody on suspicion.
West Singhbhum SP Ashutosh Shekhar said no such detention had taken place.
