Ranchi, June 10: Chief Minister Hemant Soren administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed members of Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC) Mahendra Prasad and Atul Kumar in the auditorium located at Jharkhand Secretariat on Friday.
It is to be noted that in the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, principal district judge (retired) Mahendra Prasad, has been appointed as member (Law) and retired director (Projects) Jharkhand Urja Sancharan Limited (JUSNL) Atul Kumar,) as Member (Technical).
The new chairman is yet to be appointed. The members will hold office for a period of five years or till attaining the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. JSERC has been lying defunct in the absence of member law and member technical for last 15 months. Government is yet to appoint a chairman.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren congratulated and extended best wishes to both the newly appointed members. Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, Principal Secretary, Energy Department Avinash Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
