Jharkhand State Cricket Association AGM: New selection committee announced, 29 gets life membership

Ranchi, August 10: After the formation of the new committee of Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA), the first Annual General Meeting (AGM) was successfully concluded on Sunday at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

From membership expansion to action on indiscipline and formation of new selection committees, many important proposals were approved in this meeting.

Association secretary Saurav Tiwari told reporters that all decisions have been taken unanimously in the interest of the organization. He said that this Annual General Meeting is special for us, as it was the first meeting after the formation of the new committee.

In the meeting, a proposal was passed to give lifetime membership to a total of 29 people, including eight current and former cricketers, two IAS and two IPS officers, based on the report of a special investigation committee.

On the other hand, the life membership of Ranjit Singh and his brother Santosh Singh was terminated with immediate effect on the charges of unauthorized use of the resources of the association and violation of rules. This decision was taken earlier in the Committee of Management, which was approved by voice vote in the AGM. On the demand of the members, it was also decided to form a committee to investigate the indiscipline against former curator SB Singh.

New selection committees for various categories were also announced in the Annual General Meeting

Senior Selection Committee: Its command has been handed over to Manish Vardhan, while Manoj Yadav, Subroto Ghosh and Ajay Yadav will be members.

Junior Selection Committee- Rahul Shukla has been made its head. Sanjeev Gupta, Sunny Das and Rajesh Jha will assist him as members.

Women’s Selection Committee: Kavita Rai has been appointed chairperson while Charanjit Kaur, Manoj Singh and Balashankar Jha will be members.

In the meeting, Justice Ajay Kumar Bisht was appointed Ombudsman cum Ethics Officer for the session 2025-26. This post is considered very important to ensure transparency and ethical conduct in the association.
