Jharkhand: Six IEDs recovered in W Singhbhum’s Tebo

Chaibasa, March 24: Joint search teams of West Singhbhum police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recovered six improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the forests of Halmad and Rogto under Tebo police station area here on Thursday. This was informed by the West Singhbhum SP Ajay Linda. He said the search teams had got a tip-off about the Maoists having hidden the IEDs inside the forests. Acting on the tip-off, a joint team of district police and CRPF’s Battalion No 60 were sent to the forests. A special combing operation was run for several hours. Eventually, the forces recovered six IEDs from different places inside the forest. The IEDs were destroyed at the scene following the standard operating procedure, said the SP.

Police registered a case against unidentified Maoists under various sections of Explosives Act and launched a search for them in the nearby areas, said the SP.
