Jamshedpur branch gets Sushila Mohanka Memorial Award

Jamshedpur, April 1: The Jharkhand Marwari Mahila Sammelan clinched 61 awards at the two day national convention of Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan (ABMMS) held at the Gunayan Auditorium in Parasnath. The awards were in recognition of the Jharkhand unit’s outstanding contributions across various domains.

The convention witnessed Jharkhand State President Manju Khandelwal (a resident of Kashidih in Jamshedpur) being bestowed with the prestigious Late Sushila Mohanka Memorial Award.

The Jharkhand unit of Marwari Mahila Sammelan was honored for initiatives such as establishing a shop for the disabled in Katras, exemplary leadership at the state and conference levels, as well as commendable efforts in religious rituals, cooperation, and participation.

The Jamshedpur branch, out of the 46 branches operating in Jharkhand, secured the Late Sushila Mohanka Memorial Award and was also recognized for constructing its own auditorium in the city.

Branches across Giridih, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Chirkunda, Jamtara, Chaibasa, Hirak, Deoghar, Mohanpur, Hazaribagh, Govindpur, among others, were honored for their exceptional endeavors in various sectors.

Under the chairmanship of National President Nira Bathwal, the convention assessed the accomplishments of the past two years and felicitated provinces and branches excelling in their respective domains. The event witnessed participation of approximately 800 women hailing from various parts of India, including 17 delegates from Jamshedpur.

Jharkhand Provincial Treasurer Sushila Khirwal (a resident of Jugsalai, Jamshedpur) vide a press release on Monday, highlighted the convention’s thematic focus on nationalism and spirituality for the session 2022-‘24. The cultural program during the convention was aptly named after courageous women, while the morning rally was themed around Gopi Raas.
