Jharkhand prepares for Nov-Dec Panchayat elections

Jamshedpur, July 1: The Chief Secretary Mr. Rajiv Gauba said that the dates of the Panchayat Election in Jharkhand will be announced after the Assembly Elections in Bihar.

He said that the Panchayat Elections in Jharkhand may be conducted in November-December, 2015.

To assure this, he directed the Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum Dr. Amitabh Kaushal and other DCs of all the districts to prepare flawless voter list within the given time-lines.

The Chief Secretary said it when he was reviewing the preparation of Panchayat Election while talking to all the D.C.s through video- conferencing from his chamber in Project Building.

In East Singhbhum the panchayat election may be held in four phases. In each polling centers 4-4 polling parties will be put up.

The Chief Secretary said that the motto of the State Government is to conduct impartial and fair election in Jharkhand.

The State Election Commissioner Mr. Shiv Basant said that the Panchayat Election will strengthen democratic set-up in Jharkhand.

He said that the Jharkhand Panchayat Elections will be conducted in 4 phases but there will be a gap of 5-7 days between two phases.

He said that the D.C.s and S.P.s should jointly send proposals related to different phases of Panchayat Elections so that police force and election personnel could be deployed.

He also said that para-teachers and rojgar sevaks should be deployed but the mid-day meal should not be affected.

Along with the Additional Chief Secretary Mr. N. N. Pandey and the D.G.P. Mr.D. K. Pandey, many other officials were present.
