Ranchi, April 29: PMLA court on Monday sent five accused including Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Antu Tirkey to jail in the land scam case related to former chief minister Hemant Soren.
All these people are accused of tampering with the documents of 8.5 acres of land in Badagai area of Ranchi.
The court sent everyone to Birsa Munda Central Jail located in Hotwar in judicial custody.
In the month of March, ED had raided the Badgai zonal office of Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. During this raid, ED came to know that there was falsification of land documents on a large scale. Many such documents were also seized by the ED team.
ED termed Afsar Ali as the leader of a gang doing land business on the basis of fake documents. ED recovered 36 fake documents from his house. Important documents related to these documents were seized by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team from the zonal office that day.
