Submit memorandum to Railway Minister

Jamshedpur: Thirteen Members of Parliament (MPs) from Jharkhand, including Bidyut Baran Mahato, met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and demanded the implementation of a separate railway zone for Jharkhand. In a memorandum presented to the Railway Minister, the MPs emphasized the importance of this issue and urged the Minister’s attention on the issue.
The memorandum highlighted the operation of modern rail services like Vande Bharat Express, Rajdhani, and Intercity Express trains in Jharkhand, along with ongoing development of railway infrastructure on a large scale in the state. It was also pointed out Jharkhand’s significant contribution to railway revenue through freight transport was also pointed out.
The MPs expressed the belief that having a separate railway zone for Jharkhand would lead to increased revenue for the railways, comprehensive development of the state, and improved railway management. They suggested that the state capital, Ranchi, would be suitable for the headquarters of this proposed zone.
The memorandum was signed by MPs Bidyut Baran Mahato, Jayant Sinha, Arjun Munda, Aditya Prasad, Sameer Oraon, Sunil Soren, Sunil Kumar Singh, Deepak Prakash, BD Ram, Sudarshan Bhagat, Annapurna Devi, Chandra Prakash Choudhary, and Sanjay Seth.
