Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand State Minority Commission on Saturday reviewed the implementation of welfare schemes for minority communities in East Singhbhum district, stressing the need for proportional and effective delivery of benefits.
Commission Chairman Hidayatullah Khan, along with Vice-Chairman Pranesh Solomon, held a detailed review meeting with district-level officials at the Jamshedpur Circuit House. The discussion focused on assessing the progress of minority-oriented schemes being implemented by various departments in the district.
Officials were directed to ensure that minority beneficiaries receive adequate and proportionate representation in all general welfare schemes in line with their population share. The Commission also emphasised close monitoring of schemes exclusively meant for minority welfare to ensure proper implementation and timely delivery of benefits.
Before the review meeting, the Commission conducted a public hearing, during which members of minority communities raised grievances related to welfare schemes and government services. Taking cognisance of the complaints, the Commission issued immediate instructions to the concerned departments for speedy redressal.
Addressing officials, Chairman Hidayatullah Khan said the Commission is undertaking district-wise visits across Jharkhand to assess the ground-level impact of minority welfare initiatives. He added that the Commission has also received several complaints directly from citizens, and necessary directions have already been issued to departments for their resolution.
Both the Chairman and Vice-Chairman expressed concern over vacant teaching posts in minority educational institutions and shortcomings in basic infrastructure. They said these issues would be formally brought to the notice of the Chief Minister for appropriate action.
The Commission further stated that special initiatives are being taken to ensure wider outreach of welfare schemes and government services among minority communities, in line with the policies and intent of the state government.
