Jharkhand Mahotsav at MNPS on Aug 17, 18

Jamshedpur, July 28: New Delhi�s cultural organization Swaranjali in association with UP Sangh, Jamshedpur will organize a two day classical music and dance programme at the Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) auditorium on August 17 and 18 from 6 pm. The two day event entitled Jharkhand Mahotsav will feature popular and erudite artistes of their respective classical performing genres.

The first day�s events will comprise presentations by Shilpi Lahiri (Katthak dance) with Saurav Lahiri on Tabla, Ashok Das (flute) and Aniruddha Sen on sitar will provide the accompaniment. The next item will be a recital on Hansvina and Amitabh Sen will accompany him on Tabla. Subir Adhikari will give a solo recital on Tabla with Amit Chatterjee giving him accompaniment on harmonium. The last presentation on August 17 will be the rendition of classical songs by Pandit Swapan Chakraborty and he will be supported by Amitabh Sen on Tabla and Shayan Chatterjee on Harmonium.

The second and final day�s programme on August 18 evening will open with Vina Chikkanahalli�s Bharat Natyam presentation.  Mahua Chatterjee will render classical songs and will be accompanied on the Tabla by Amitabh Sen and on harmonium by Birendra Upadhyay.  The final event of the day will be a sitar recital by city born internationally popular artiste Subroto Dey. Prashant Dey Roy will accompany him on the Tabla.
