Jharkhand Karatekas win 6 medals at KIO Federation Cup 2024

Jamshedpur, Nov 25: Six karatekas from the All India Goju Ryu Karate Federation (AIGKF), Jharkhand, made the state proud by winning medals at the KIO Federation Cup All India Karate Championship 2024. The championship, held from November 19 to 23 at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, saw the participation of over 3,000 karatekas from across the country.

The event was organized by the Karate India Organisation (KIO), affiliated with the World Karate Federation (WKF), Asian Karate Federation (AKF), and International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Medal Winners from Jharkhand included Rohan Ishadkar: Gold (Under 14 Boys Kumite -50 kg, Tata Steel Karate Training Centre), Rohit Ishakdar: Silver (Under 11 Boys Kumite), Ayush Bankira: Silver (Under 12 Boys Kumite), Aarav Pandey: Bronze (Under 10 Boys Kumite), Virang Pandey: Gold (Under 9 Boys Kumite), Saraswati Mardi: Silver (Under 10 Girls Kumite)

The medalists were awarded prizes and certificates by Hanshi Bharat Sharma, President of the South Asia Karate Federation, in the presence of esteemed officials.

Shihan Sandip Kumar, who represented Jharkhand as the team coach, commended the players for their outstanding performance.
