Ranchi, July 1: Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari has received a major reprieve from the High Court as his anticipatory bail petition in the SC-ST case has been approved. The case stems from allegations made by Sunita Devi on July 2, 2022, accusing the MLA of using casteist language and other serious charges. The district court had taken cognizance of these allegations.
Initially, Ansari had applied for anticipatory bail in the lower court, but his plea was denied. Subsequently, he approached the High Court seeking anticipatory bail, which has now been granted.
