Ranchi, July 1: The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for 13 districts of Jharkhand starting from tomorrow, as the monsoon is set to cover the entire state over the next five days. Dark clouds have already enveloped the state, with some areas experiencing light rain since this morning.
According to forecasts, heavy rain is expected in the northeastern and adjacent central parts of the state on July 2nd and 3rd. The districts likely to be affected include Ranchi, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Gumla, Bokaro, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, and Pakur. Thunderstorms are also anticipated during this period, prompting the issuance of a yellow alert by the Meteorological Department.
From July 4th to 5th, most parts of Jharkhand can expect light to moderate rainfall. The recent weather data shows a decrease in temperatures by four degrees across the state over the last 24 hours. In Ranchi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum stood at 24 degrees Celsius.
Rainfall figures from various districts indicate significant precipitation, with Bansjor in Simdega receiving 76.6 mm, Panchet 61 mm, and Gumla Raidih 50 mm. Other areas reporting rainfall include Garhwa (48 mm), Latehar (24 mm), Simdega (50 mm), Bokaro (13 mm), and Ranchi (3.4 mm).
