Jharkhand Heatwave: 28 people die due to heatwave in two days

 

Ranchi: The Health Department has instructed the civil surgeons of all the districts of the state to make special arrangements for people who fall ill due to heat stroke and heat.
According to the information received from Chatra district, Maheshwar Sao, Bal Govind Sao, Mohammad Ilyas, Kaleshwar Thakur died due to heat stroke in Hunterganj block between Thursday and Friday. Similarly, in Palamu also, Suresh Ram, a resident of Bara village of Chhatarpur police station area, died due to heat stroke on Friday. Earlier, seven people had died here on Thursday.
Thousands of bats have died in Hazaribagh, Giridih, Garhwa, Latehar and Ranchi in the last four days. It is believed that this is happening due to extreme heat, but the Animal Husbandry Department suspects that a virus may also be behind this.
In view of this apprehension, the Animal Husbandry Department has sent samples of dead bats to a high-level laboratory in Pune for examination. Here, in Sundipur village of Kandi block of Garhwa district, many villagers cooked and ate dead bats. As soon as this information was received, Garhwa Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Jamuwar alerted the health department.
After this, a medical camp was set up in that village and 25 villagers were examined. Fortunately, no side effects have been seen so far in any villager who ate meat. In Garhwa and Palamu districts, which are most affected by heat and heat, a drop of one degree in temperature was definitely recorded on Friday, but there is no relief at the moment.
According to the bulletin issued by the Meteorological Department, on Friday the maximum temperature was recorded at 46.5 degrees Celsius in Garhwa and 46 degrees Celsius in Palamu. A drop in temperature has been recorded in many districts of the state. The districts where the temperature is still above 40 degrees include Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla and Chatra.
