Ghatshila, Jan 19: Himani Mahato, a resident of Raghunathdih village in Dhalbhumgarh block, was in tremendous pain since the last few days and was admitted to a private hospital where doctors said that she had pain in the uterus and suggested surgery. Anticipating huge surgical expenses that Himani and her family were not capable of meeting due to poverty, her family members conveyed the information to social worker Sujan Kumar Manna. Sujan tweeted the predicament of Himani to Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta. Transport Minister Champai Soren, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto, BJP State Spokesperson Kunal Shadangi and DC East Singhbhum.
Taking cognizance of the tweet, Health Minister Banna Gupta asked the Deputy Commissioner to take prompt action on the matter. Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar directed local Sahiya Banashri Namta to take Himani to the Dalbhumgarh Community Health Centre by ambulance where she was examined and referred to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur where she has been admitted and put under medical care.
