Jharkhand Health Minister Banna lends shoulder to childhood friend’s cot on final journey

Jamshedpur, May 29: A teary eyed Banna Gupta lent shoulder to his childhood and inseparable friend who died in the course of treatment, Bablu Chaurasia’s cot during the final journey. Banna Gupta murmured amidst suppressed sobs, “Friend, I will miss you badly.”

Health Minister Banna Gupta is known for his sensitivity and a soft heart and his friendly nature. His friends and supporters are well aware that no matter what post or position he holds, he never forgets his friends and is always by their side whenever they need him.

The Health Minister was at Ranchi on Saturday and when he received the information of Bablu Chaurasia’s death, he cancelled all his programmes and rushed to Jamshedpur to be at his childhood friend’s side during the final journey.

It may be mentioned that it was Banna Gupta who had Bablu Chaurasia admitted to Tata Main Hospital and ensured best treatment for his friend. When Bablu died, Banna, on humanitarian ground, had his late friend’s treatment bill amount waived.

Bablu Chaurasia was a Kadma resident and employed in a private firm. He was from a middle class background and since childhood, Banna Gupta and Bablu Chaurasia were inseparable friends. According to people in the know, both Banna and Bablu shared their personal joys and sorrows and stood by each other in thick and thin. When his friend was ill, Banna Gupta kept regular track of his dear friend.

In a highly emotional tweet Health Minister Banna Gupta wrote, “Today I am sad and mentally shattered. Today I have lost my childhood friend who was like a brother to me. I have lost my Bablu Chaurasia.”
