Jharkhand Health Minister Banna inaugurates Mission Indradhanush 5.0 at Seraikela

Seraikela, August 7: The first phase of the “Mission Indradhanush 5.0” campaign was inaugurated by the health minister Banna Gupta from Sadar Hospital premises in Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

Addressing the program, deputy commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla said that a micro plan has been prepared at the block level for the successful operation of the campaign. Frontline workers and didis working in the field will have an important contribution in making the campaign successful.

During this, civil surgeon Dr. Ajay Kumar Sinha while giving information regarding the program said that vaccination of pregnant women and children below 5 years of age will be done in three phases from 7 to 12 August, 11 to 16 September and 9 to 14 October under the campaign.

He said that under the campaign, 2379 children of 0 to 2 years, 515 children of 2 to 5 years and 550 pregnant women would be vaccinated in the district.

Addressing the program, Banna Gupta said that the missed vaccination of pregnant women and infants should be ensured by running a campaign. He said that the main objective of the campaign is to ensure vaccination of pregnant mothers and babies against various types of 11 deadly diseases. Minister Banna Gupta said that the state government is continuously working to strengthen the health sector.

“We are considering the demand of  sahiiyas. The points related to the increase in their honorarium have been placed before the Chief Minister and the Union Minister. Appropriate decision will be taken soon,” said Gupta

. During this, Minister Banna Gupta said that for the successful operation of “Mission Indradhanush 5.0” and to achieve the target of 100 percent vaccination, there is a need to coordinate with the health department and other related departments to work under the campaign.
