Jamshedpur, Feb 20: The Jharkhand government is committed to stopping youth migration by setting up new companies and training young people in various trades to make them employable within the state, said Labor and Industry Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav.

Speaking at a workshop on ‘Skill gap analysis and exploring skill demand of local industry’ organized by the Department of Labor Planning, Training, and Skill Development at Hotel Vivanta in Golmuri (Jamshedpur) on Thursday, the minister emphasized the need for market-driven skill training.

“With changing times, every sector must adapt. We will update our skill development programs to align with industry demands, ensuring our youth become self-reliant,” said Yadav. He directed officials to revise the skill development module and coordinate with industrial units to train youth in high-demand trades.

The event saw participation from key government officials, including Labor Secretary Mukesh Kumar, Labor Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar Besra, and Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society Director Shailendra Kumar Lal. Representatives from various companies also attended.

To assess employment needs, the department collected data from company representatives through a Google form, asking about the specific trades and number of skilled employees required for their businesses.

Government to prepares proposal to address industrial sector challenges
Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand government is actively working to resolve industrial sector issues, with plans to bring solutions to the cabinet soon.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Labor Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav stated that he has visited Jamshedpur three times in the last three months to understand the problems faced by industries.

“We have collected suggestions from company owners regarding their challenges and potential solutions. A meeting will be held in Ranchi at the end of this month, where a formal proposal will be prepared based on these suggestions and presented to the cabinet,” Yadav said.
Regarding the lack of basic infrastructure in industrial zones and the demand for land for new companies, Yadav assured that once the proposals are approved, many of these issues will be resolved automatically.
When asked about restarting closed industries in Jharkhand, Yadav emphasized that efforts will be made to revive them. “Reopening closed companies is a priority. We will take the necessary initiatives to bring them back into operation,” he added.
Jharkhand govt signs MoUs with three companies for youth employment
Jamshedpur: In a significant step towards youth employment, the Labor Department signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with three companies on Thursday.
The companies—Arvind Mills, 20-50 Health Care, and Mango & Orange Company—have pledged to hire 300 skilled youth annually who have undergone government training programs.
Arvind Mills will provide placements for youth in the textile industry, while 20-50 Health Care will recruit General Duty Assistants. Mango & Orange Company will offer jobs in fitter, electrical, electronics, and other trades across various companies.
“The minimum salary for these placements will be Rs 15,000 per month, ensuring financial stability for the youth,” a senior labor department official confirmed.
Labor Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav stressed that such initiatives will bridge the skill gap and reduce unemployment in Jharkhand. “With such collaborations, we are ensuring that our youth receive quality training and job opportunities within the state,” he stated.
The MoUs are expected to boost industrial workforce development and encourage more companies to invest in local talent.

“The maximum salary offered to these candidates is Rs 20,000 per month, a significant step in providing financial independence and career growth,” said an official from JSDMS.
Minister Yadav reiterated the state government’s commitment to employment generation, stating, “We are focused on making Jharkhand’s youth self-reliant by equipping them with in-demand skills and ensuring they get placed in reputable companies.”
