30 encroachers issued notices for illegal construction on forest land near Jamshedpur

The forest department has issued notices to 30 individuals for illegally constructing houses on forest land in Mirudih under the RIT police station area. The accused include Kiran Munduiya, Sakro Kisku, Jaisingh Jarika, Mangu Bankira, and several others.

A case was registered against them in the departmental court as early as 2016-17. Now, the Collector-cum-Forest Division Officer, Saba Alam Ansari, has directed the encroachers to appear at the Collector’s office on February 22 at 11 AM to present their defense.

“If they fail to attend the hearing, unilateral action will be taken against them,” the notice warns.

The administration has been cracking down on encroachment cases, particularly on forest land, to reclaim government property and enforce legal land use regulations.

Residents and environmentalists have welcomed the move, urging authorities to expedite the removal of illegal structures while ensuring a fair hearing for those affected.
