Ranchi, August 12: Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma today said that the state government was committed for improving and modernizing the police of the state as the police have a vital role to play in building a harmonious and peaceful society.
Addressing the passing out parade at PTC Grounds here she said that police has a leading role to play in the progress of the country and the nation and said that the police uniform was a symbol of pride and esteem.
She asked the police officials who passed out on the day to contribute so that the police department can reach to new heights of development.
The CS said that the training received would help them to fight all other challenges which they would be facing in the later stages of their lives.
Verma said that at the time of the training itself the police officials are taught how to tackle various types of situation so that they do not face any trouble while dispensing their duties. She asked the officials to work with full honesty and dedication in their job.
Addressing the event, Jharkhand DGP D K Pandey said that once the training has been completed the police officials are ready to go in the field and carry out their duties.
He said that the training received would help them with new challenges which they would face while carrying out their duties. He said that the newly trained officers should be ready to take on anti-social forces during their service and work as a servant of the people and not try to become the masters.
The Director of Jharkhand Police Academy Deo Bihari Sharma said the officials would now have to play their role in maintaining law and order and creating a fearless society in the state.
A total of 70 police officials passed out during the parade.
