Ranchi, May 13: In a symbolic yet significant move towards energy conservation and prudent use of public resources, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar has reduced the number of vehicles in his official convoy to just four, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for fuel conservation.
Sharing the decision through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Governor said the step has been taken at Lok Bhavan, the Raj Bhavan of Jharkhand, with the objective of promoting fuel efficiency and encouraging responsible resource management.
“Responding to the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for fuel conservation and judicious use of resources, I have decided to reduce the number of vehicles in my motorcade at Lok Bhavan, Jharkhand, to just four,” Governor Gangwar stated.
He also urged public representatives and government officials across the state to avoid unnecessary use of vehicles and actively participate in the larger public campaign for energy conservation.
The initiative is being viewed as a model step toward environmental responsibility, reduced fuel consumption, and efficient utilisation of government resources. At a time when sustainability and resource management have become pressing priorities, the Governor’s decision sends a strong message on the importance of leading by example.
Officials believe such symbolic administrative measures can help build broader public awareness and reinforce the national momentum towards sustainable governance and responsible energy use.
