Jharkhand Government focussed on taking welfare schemes to last-mile: Hemant Soren

Art gallery on Sidho Kanhu, Chand Bhairav and Phoolo Jhanu inaugurated at Barhait

Ranchi, Dec 7: Chief minister Hemant Soren while addressing Apke Adhikar, apki sarkar, apke dwar outreach program at Bhognadih in Barhait block of Sahibganj district on Tuesday stressed on government schemes reaching to the last mile.

Earlier, chief minister paid homage by garlanding the statue of the tribal martyr Sido-Kanhu and also inaugurated an art gallery related to Veer Shaheed Sido, Kanhu, Chand, Bhairav and Phoolo-Jhano in his home constituency. 

“People in the last mile should be part of the government, this is our resolve and this campaign aims at reaching out to remote people so that they can benefit from government schemes. It is with this purpose that the programs are being run at your doorstep in panchayat level.  It is heartening that people’s problems are being solved and they are being linked with development plans,” said Soren.

He said that the massive impact of this program is being seen.

“Every person of the state should have a smile on their face. Every young man should stand on his own feet. With this resolve, many schemes of the government are going on. We are happy that people are taking advantage of the government schemes by joining them,” said Soren.

Hemant Soren said that the process of recruitment is going on a large scale. At the same time, schemes like Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme have been started to promote self-employment. Through this scheme, up to Rs 25 lakh is being made available on subsidy to young entrepreneurs, so that they can give employment to themselves as well as others.

“The Palash brand is being made a business model to provide market to the products manufactured by Sakhi Mandals. Under this, instructions have been given to buy the products of Sakhi Mandals in the subordinate departments of the government,” informed Soren.  

The Chief Minister said that the government has taken a pledge for all-round development of Santhal Pargana area. The construction of Grid Sub Station at Barhait is going on in full swing. With its commissioning, there will be uninterrupted power supply in this area.

The chief minister laid the foundation stone of 1289 schemes and inaugurated seven schemes. In this, out of the total schemes to be laid, 1262 schemes are related to Jal Jeevan Mission. Apart from this, along with distributing assets among the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes, the Chief Minister gave appointment letters to the newly selected personnel.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of Phoolo Jhano Smriti Van to be built on the banks of river Gumani. The statue of Phulo Jhano will be installed here. At the same time, this place will also be developed as a tourist destination. The Chief Minister inaugurated art gallery related to Veer Shaheed Sido, Kanhu, Chand, Bhairav and Phoolo-Jhano. He also launched Krida Kisalaya Football Training Center to promote sports at Bhognadih.
