Jamshedpur, Oct 19: The political landscape in Jharkhand shifted dramatically as former MLA Maneka Sardar announced her resignation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shortly after the party released its candidate list for the upcoming 2024 Assembly elections. Sardar, who has successfully contested and won the Potka assembly seat three times on a BJP ticket, has made headlines with this unexpected move.
In her resignation letter addressed to State President Babulal Marandi, Sardar refrained from detailing her reasons for leaving or her future political plans. However, she hinted at sharing her future political decisions with her followers on Facebook, stating, “I will soon share my decision on future politics with everyone.” Her message concluded with a respectful acknowledgment of her roots, including phrases like “Johar Namaskar, Jai Bhumij Jai Jharkhand.”
The timing of her resignation has raised eyebrows and sparked speculation about potential ramifications within the party and the political arena in Potka.
