Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum district administration has completed extensive preparations for the Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) 2024, scheduled for Sunday, April 26. A total of 39,265 candidates will appear for the exam across 93 centres in the district during a single shift from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Briefing for Officers at Birsa Munda Town Hall
To ensure a malpractice-free examination, Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan and Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey conducted a detailed briefing for magistrates, police officers, and centre superintendents at Birsa Munda Town Hall, Sidhgora.
The administration issued the following key directives:
- Mandatory Presence: Static Magistrates and observers must arrive at their centres at least two hours before the exam begins to manage law and order.
- Security Logistics: Flying squads will oversee the secure and timely transport of question papers and answer sheets.
- Transparency: Authorities must video record the entire process of opening and sealing question paper packets.
- Electronic Ban: Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, or any electronic gadgets.
Zero Tolerance for Malpractice
Ranjan emphasized strict adherence to the Jharkhand Competitive Examination (Measure for Control and Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2023. He warned that any form of cheating or disruption is a serious offense that will trigger legal action.
Security and Crowd Management
Pandey directed police officials to tighten security at all venues. Key measures include:
- Intensive Frisking: Every candidate will undergo a thorough check at the entrance. Female police personnel will specifically handle the frisking of female candidates.
- Surveillance: Police will monitor social media to prevent the spread of rumors and keep a close watch on illegal gatherings near exam centers.
- Traffic & Heat Measures: The administration has reviewed traffic plans to ensure smooth transit. Officers also received instructions to manage crowd flow at gates to avoid candidate inconvenience and were advised on dehydration precautions given the heat.
Senior officials, including Dhalbhum SDM Arnav Mishra, ADM Law and Order Rahul Anand, and DSE Ashish Pandey, also provided guidelines to ensure the successful conduct of the state-level examination.
