Jamshedpur: District Election Officer Ananya Mittal has said that candidates for the assembly elections will have to make public their criminal records, if any. Political parties will also have to put information about criminal cases of their candidates on their party’s official website.

Also, in the period after nomination, the candidate and the political party will have to make public the information about criminal cases at least 3 times in newspapers and TV channels so that voters get enough time to know about the background of such candidates.
