Ranchi, February 13: Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday raided the residence of a close aide of former CM Hemant Soren in the land scam case.
The ED team reached the Ayodhyapuri residence of land dealer Ramesh Gope in Kokar and conducted search for about six hours and examined many documents. The ED team left from there around 2 pm.
Incidentally, ED had arrested former Chief Minister Hemant Soren in a case related to the land scam.. Hemant Soren has been arrested in this case related to 8.5 acres of land in Badgai area. The ED team is still interrogating Hemant Soren by taking him on remand.
ED has told the court that former CM Hemant Soren and architect Vinod Singh had plans to build a banquet hall on the said land. In this regard, ED has handed over the evidence of WhatsApp chat between Hemant Soren and Vinod Singh to the court.
ED is also questioning Hemant Soren and his associate Vinod Singh regarding WhatsApp chat, in which information related to immovable properties was exchanged. According to ED, Hemant Soren also refused to sign and acknowledge WhatsApp chats to hide information about properties.
