Jamshedpur, Feb 13: The tallest idol of Goddess Saraswati, measuring 31 feet in height, will be worshipped at the Baridih Transport Maidan on Wednesday, February 14. The pandal for the puja organized by Sarvjanik Saraswati Puja Committee, was inaugurated on Tuesday by MLA Mangal Kalindi.
Meanwhile, the idol makers had a busy time attending to customers who opted for various sizes and designs of the Goddess’ idols. Weather conditions failed to subdue the zeal of the puja marketers. Fruit stalls too witnessed rushes of customers.
Ma Saraswati is the Goddess of learning and Her pujas are performed at colony pandals, educational institutions and homes. It makes for a pretty and amusing site to see little girls walking excitedly towards pandals while trying to keep in place their intricately-worn sarees.
