Jharkhand Dental Association alleges Govt negligence

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Dental Association has alleged that government is totally negligent to the dental doctors.

Addressing a press meet the association termed closure of dental OPD at MGM Medical Hospital the result of governments apathy.

Addressing a press meet at Sakchi Dr Md. Zafar of the association said that the government lacks sensitivity towards dental doctors in the State.

The dental doctors are leaving Jharkhand for job opportunities in other states. Now that the dental OPD at MGM has been closed the government ought to take notice of the grievances of the dental doctors, he said.

He said the deputation of junior resident doctors in place of senior doctors at the hospital would be an injustice to the patients.

Dr Shadab Hassan said that employment of five dental doctors on a salary of Rs 30,000 flouts the existing rules and would trigger misappropriation of government exchequer. It is a matter of enquiry, he said. If the government permits the association is ready to provide hundreds of dental doctors for the hospital, he said.

At the meet Dr Shadab Hassan put forth a demand to the government for recruitment of 1000 dental doctors on contract basis in Jharkhand.

The association also demanded engagement of 50 dental doctors at various government-run hospitals in Kolhan including the MGM Hospital on contract.

Priority should be given on seniority and qualifications during recruitment of the doctors, it said.

Dr Vir Bhajan Singh, DR Zeba Shakil, Dr A Syed, Dr Pramod, Dr Priyanka and other doctors were also present at the meet.
