Jharkhand Congress to organize Maiya Sammelan to woo women voters

Ranchi, September 16: Jharkhand Congress will start its campaign for assembly polls on September 22 with meeting women beneficiaries of government welfare schemes at Ranchi.

Jharkhand Congress former executive president and former MLA Bandhu Tirkey said that ‘Maiya Sammelan’ will be organized on 22 September in the Janata Maidan of ITI Bus Stand at Ranchi.

Informing media at Congress Bhawan in Ranchi, Bandhu Tirkey said that in the last four and a half years, the number of programs being run in the interest of the public by the coalition government of JMM-Congress-RJD has reached out to people of all section especially women.

“Large number of women are benefitting from such schemes. We want to launch our poll campaign in Jharkhand by holding a meeting with such women beneficiaries from different assembly constituencies of South Chotanagpur region,” said Tirkey.

Thousands of women from 15 assembly constituencies will participate in this conference, in which women from Latehar, Manika, Lohardaga, Gumla, Bishanpur, Sisai, Simdega, Kolebira, Khunti, Mandar, Ranchi, Kanke, Hatia, Khijri, Torpa and even Koderma assembly segment will participate.

Apart from this, women associated with the State Women Congress and other social organizations will also participate. Through this conference, women working at the assembly level will also be honored.

Through this, preparations will be made by discussing the role and participation of women in the upcoming assembly elections as well as boosting their morale.

The program would be attended by chief minister Hemant Soren and AICC Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir along with coordinator of ST/SC/OBC and minority front of AICC, K Raju and state party president Keshav Mahato and Congress legislative party leader and cabinet minister Rameshwar Oraon.

Apart from this, all the district presidents of Congress, state level leaders, front and department leaders will also attend the program.

“We will also felicitate women who have worked for the society in their regions. We want to take the suggestions of the women and execute it better in the implementation of the schemes apart from taking their support during the election,” said a party leader.
