Ranchi, April 6: Aradhana Patnaik, Secretary, Commercial Tax Department, has said that the department has collected a total of 19,750 crore commercial tax in the financial year 2021-22, which is 107 percent of the target. A target of 18422 crores was set in the financial year 2021-22. He informed that the tax collected in the financial year 2021-22 is 25 percent more than the 16,147 crore in the financial year 2020-21. She was briefing the media today in the auditorium of the Commercial Taxes Department at Utpadak Bhawan.
The Secretary said that for the first time in the State, the Intelligence and Revenue Analysis Wing was constituted and sector-wise analysis was done, which has yielded positive results. It is expected that in the current financial year also, the department will be able to collect commercial tax as per the target. She said that in order to strengthen the audit wing, the office of the Commissioner of Taxes has been made more efficient.
She said that if the taxpayers face any kind of tax related problems, then the team of the department will always be available for them. In the current financial year, the department will regularly interact with the taxpayers for their convenience, so that their problems can be solved with ease.
Secretary of the department, Aradhana Patnaik said that a total of 17 office bearers and employees, who have performed well in tax collection, have been honored with citations.
The Jharkhand commercial taxes department has achieved a record revenue at Rs 19,794 crore in the just-concluded fiscal, a top official said on Wednesday.
The commercial tax collection was Rs 16,147 crore in the financial year 2020-2021.
”The commercial taxes department has generated an all-time high revenue to the tune of Rs 19,750 crore,” secretary, Commercial Taxes, Aradhana Patnaik said.
The department had set a target of Rs 18,422 crore collection for the last fiscal, she said, adding that the collection was up 107 per cent of the target and increased 25 per cent in comparison to the previous fiscal.
The secretary, briefing the media here said that the department felicitated 17 officials for good performance.
”It is for the first time in the state, that the Intelligence and Revenue Analysis Wing has been constituted and sector-wise analysis was done. This has yielded positive results. It is expected that in the current financial year too, the department will be able to collect commercial tax as per the target,” Patnaik said.
The department has ensured regular interaction with the taxpayers so that their problems can be solved, she said.
