Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that the State Government would give utmost priority to skill development progrmmes for the youth.
Steps would be taken to impart entrepreneurial and skill development trainings to youths. �The Jharkhand Government will place Jharkhand on the top as far as imparting national skill development programmes are concerned,� he said.
Das was addressing a discussion titled �Challenges on the path of skill development� organize on the occasion of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda here in Ranchi today at Shree Krishna Public Administration Training Institute.
He said that Swamiji had not only re-instated Indian religion on world platform but also shown a new path of spiritualism and knowledge. Das said that it was necessary to take a new pledge to harness the strength of the youth through imparting skill development programmes.
He observed on the occasion that lack of development had made adverse impact on Jharkhand and it was necessary to complete all development work in an expeditious manner within the next five years.
Taking up the plight of large sections of youth Raghubar Das said that youth today is fighting scourges of poverty, hunger, and unemployment. It is necessary to hone talents and increase their employability though imparting skill development programmes.
There is no death of resources in Jharkhand that could be used effectively to augment skills.
The Chief Minister recalled Swamiji�s thought that real education is must for character building, development of a strong mind and skills. Skill development is also necessary along with imparting basic education, he said.
He said that formulation of skill development programmes should be chalked out for children right from their early age like what is done in foreign countries. Jharkhand could be made a hub of power and information technology, he averred.
The chief minister on the occasion called upon the big industries and public sector units to come forward in the field of skill development among youths. He said that all required support would be extended to the organizations willing to open up Industrial Training Institutes in Jharkhand.
He stressed on the need of greater co-ordination between national level and State level skill development programmes. It will benefit to achieve the goal if portals prepared by the department of information technology with the national portal.
