Ranchi: Poor show in assembly election has once again brought in-party rivalries in Congress to the fore.

The senior functionaries of the party while could not explain the drab show in election have resorted to muck slinging on one other. Rajya Sabha MP Pradip Kumar Balmuchu is reportedly demanding ouster of State Party president Sukhdev Bhagat in hushed tones.

Others including Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Prasad Sahu, former union minister Rameshwar Oraon, former MP Furkan Ansari have reportedly also re-grouped against Bhagat, sources said.

On the other hand, general secretary of the State Congress Committee Shamsher Alam aired his strong displeasure against the move of senior party functionaries. Alam said that before casting allegation and giving open public statements the senior leaders should have done introspection.

He said that such irresponsible statements are hampering interests of the party organization. The part members should take positive steps instead of leveling allegations on one another.

Alam said that the senior leader should find out the reason why the party did not get requisite votes in the assembly and what role the party leaders played during the election.

On the other hand rival leaders said that they would meet Sonia Gandhi very shortly and put forth demands of ouster Sukhdev Bhagat from the post.
