Jharkhand CM visits home constituency, plans facelift of Santhal Pargana

Ranchi, January 4: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren who visited his home constituency in Barhait in Sahibganj district squarely blamed the BJP for Santhal Pargana region not developing as it should have in the last two decades since creation of the state.

Addressing party workers at Sahibganj, Hemant Soren said, “It pains to see that Santhal Pargana region is yet achieve development on several fronts despite two decades of creation of the state. Unfortunately those who stayed in power in the last two decades did not bother to understand the sentiments of the regional people. They comprised outsiders and were interested in meeting their own agendas.”

The chief minister further said that their government completed three years in December.

“We faced challenges of Covid during our three years of government. Still then we have drawn up plans to facelift the Santhal Pargana in the next two years of our government,” said Soren.

Taking a dig at the BJP, Hemant Soren, said, “It took 30-40 years of struggle to obtain the separate state of Jharkhand and twenty years to uproot outsiders from government. They do not bother to take schemes for development of our region as they are only interested in planning strategies through falsehood to stay in power. They are still active in orchestrating strategies to disturb the government. But their motive will not succeed with the blessing of the locals.”

The chief minister is on a two-day tour of Sahibganj and was given a guard of honour by the district administration.
