Jharkhand CM to visit European countries to attract investment

Ranchi, April 3: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will visit three countries.

Apart from his wife Kalpana Soren, a team of eight people will accompany him which would include urban development and housing minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu, chief secretary Alka Tiwari, additional chief secretary to the CM Avinash Kumar, industry secretary Arwa Rajkamal, industry director Sushant Gaurav among others.

A high-level team led by the Chief Minister will visit Portugal, Sweden and Spain to attract investment for the state.  The government there will hold talks with personalities and institutions of the industry sector.

The state government has sought political clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs for the team going on a foreign tour under the leadership of the Chief Minister.

It is expected that political clearance will be received from the Ministry of External Affairs in the next few days.

This foreign tour of the Chief Minister will be from April 19-26.

According to official sources, the industry department has prepared a detailed proposal for this foreign tour of the Chief Minister.

It should be noted here that the state government is now engaged in attracting capital investment to create employment opportunities in Jharkhand.

The Chief Minister’s meeting and long conversation with the country’s second largest industrialist Gautam Adani after the budget session of the Assembly is a part of that effort. The Chief Minister has also said that in the current financial year, the state government wants to bring to fruition a capital investment of Rs 20-22 thousand crores.

No major capital investment has been made in Jharkhand so far. However, former Chief Ministers have also made efforts for this.

Former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das visited Japan and Czech Republic in October 2017. Before that, former Chief Minister Arjun Munda has also visited abroad for capital investment. Former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das had even organized Momentum Jharkhand in Ranchi to invite capital investment.

Cabinet meet on Apr 8

Ranchi, April 3: Hemant Soren led Jharkhand cabinet meeting will be held on April 8.

Information has been issued from Jharkhand cabinet and vigilance department that a meeting will be held in Project Bhawan on 8th April 2025 from 1 pm.

Many important proposals can be approved in this meeting. The meeting will be chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Earlier, a cabinet meeting was held on 25th March 2025.
