Jharkhand CM to unveil statue of Shahid Ganesh Hansda, inaugurate park in Baharagora on June 16

Jamshedpur, June 12: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will unveil the statue of Veer Shahid Ganesh Hansda on the second death anniversary of the martyr on Thursday, June 16 at 10 am. He will also inaugurate a park named after Shahid Ganesh Hansda. The events will be organized at Kasphalia in Baharagora.

Jharkhand government Ministers Champai Soren, Banna Gupta, Joba Majhi and Hafizul Hassan along with Odisha Minister Sudam Marandi and West Bengal Minister Birbaha Hansda will be present as special guests at the inauguration ceremony.

MP Vidyut Baran Mahto along with Ramdas Soren, Samir Mahanty, Niral Purty, Sanjeev Sardar, Dashrath Gagrai, Savita Mahto, Mangal Kalindi, Sukhram Oraon and Deepak Birua will be the guests of honour on the occasion.

The information was provided by Dr Sanjay Giri, the President of Sampoorn Humanity Welfare Association and Veer Shahid Ganesh Smarak Seva Samiti at a press conference organized at CP Club in Tuiladungri (Golmuri) on Sunday.

During the press briefing, Dr Giri said that the cost of the statue of Shahid Ganesh Hansda was paid from his personal expenses. This statue will be unveiled by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on June 16. On June 16, 2020, Ganesh Hansda met his martyrdom while fending off the Chinese aggression at Galwan Valley on the Indo-China border. Recollecting the incident, Dr Sanjay Giri said, “On getting the news of the incident, I met the martyr’s family and assured the family members of brave heart martyr Ganesh Hansda of all possible cooperation.  It was then that I decided to get a statue of the brave and gallant son of Baharagora and Jharkhand, Veer Shahid Ganesh Hansda installed and so my desire materialized.”

Dr Giri stated that approximately 20 thousand villagers were expected to participate at the ceremonies that will include the unveiling of the statue of Martyr Ganesh Hansda and the inauguration of the park named after the martyr by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

 Sanjay Giri informed that on the first death anniversary of the martyr, he went to Ganesh Hansda’s   village and met the family members and paid tribute to the martyr. “I continued meeting them and the villagers to find ways of perpetuating the brave son of Jharkhand, Shahid Ganesh Hansda’s memory.”
