Jharkhand CM to inaugurate 500-bed hospital in Jamshedpur on Oct 5, DC reviews preparations

Jamshedpur: Chief Minister Hemant Soren is scheduled to inaugurate the new building (500-bed hospital) of MGM Medical College Hospital at its Dimna premises on October 5. As the Chief Minister will be arriving by air, a helipad is being constructed on forest department land in Baliguma, with a public meeting planned at a nearby ground.

On Thursday, East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, along with other officials, conducted an inspection of the college, the helipad, and the designated meeting site to ensure all preparations are in place for the event.

Earlier on Wednesday, Health Minister Banna Gupta in preparation for the inauguration of the Outpatient Department (OPD) services at the 500-bed hospital at the MGM Medical College campus, conducted an inspection of the facility.

The Minister expressed his commitment to ensuring that all construction work is completed in time before the inauguration and that the hospital will be fully equipped to provide top-tier medical services to the region.

The Minister had informed that MGM Medical College will soon house a total of 851 beds, including 131 ICU beds, 620 general beds, and a separate 100-bed critical care unit. He emphasized that the hospital will significantly elevate healthcare services for residents of the Kolhan division and surrounding districts.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will lay the foundation stone for a bridge spanning the Swarnarekha River from Litti Chowk in Jamshedpur to NH 33 at Bhilai Pahari on October 4, 2024, via an online event.

The project involved construction of a 4 km bridge and a 3.68 km approach road, with an estimated cost of Rs 39.92 crore. M/s Satish Prasad of Ranchi has been given the contract for the project.

The project is expected to be completed by 2026.
