Ranchi, April 25: Chief minister Hemant Soren directed that the benefit of Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme (CMEGS) is to be given to maximum people.
“It has been one year since the scheme was implemented, but the results are not showing as expected. Make sure to give the benefit of this scheme in a big way. For this, the department should prepare an action plan within a week. Pre Matric and Post Matric Scholarship should be available to all on time,” directed the chief minister while reviewing the progress of the financial year 2021-22, the work plan for the financial year 2022-23, of the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department.
In order to review the hostels built and under construction for the students, the Chief Minister said that where necessary, the hostels should be constructed. The gap in hostel construction should be reviewed.
“Take full care of infrastructure and resources in construction. Please provide complete information about it. Children should get better facilities. The government is serious about providing cooks, food grains and guards in these hostels. The Chief Minister received information about the status of construction of residential schools, schools proposed for construction and residential schools under construction. We have ordered to plan for better operation of residential schools and ensure quality education,” said Soren.
The Chief Minister directed to put up posters in Panchayat Bhawan and Anganwadi centers to make people aware about the Chief Minister’s employment generation scheme.
“Give information about the process of taking loan in those posters. So that people can get the benefit of the scheme. We have to ensure an increase in the number of self-employed adopters by taking loans. Issue directive to give the benefit of the scheme to all the needy. It needs to be promoted more in rural areas. Make a camp and inform people about it. Camps should be organized every month,” said Soren.
Under the Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme 2021-22, 1672 Scheduled Tribes, 682 Scheduled Castes, 1180 Backward Classes, 70 Divyang and 249 minority people were given loan applications for self-employment. A total of 3,853 people’s applications were approved, against which a total of Rs 59.61 crore was allocated.
Chief Minister took information in detail about renovation of welfare hostels, food supply in hostels, provision from Fed under Corporate Social Responsibility of cook, security personnel and sanitation workers in hostels, implementation of foreign scholarship scheme, Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme, run by Welfare Department Operation of Hospitals, Establishment of Integrated Tribal Culture Center on 50 acres of land in Ranchi, Sarna / Masna / Dhumkudia / Graveyard, Birsa Awas, Shaheed Gram Vikas Yojana, PVTG Gramothan Yojna, EMRS / Ashram Vidyalaya / PVTG, SC, ST Atrocities Redressal, details of the amount to be released from the Government of India, construction of three new residential schools for minorities and other backward classes, scholarship distribution, cycle distribution.
