Jharkhand CM nod for women’s college at Garhwa

Ranchi, July 20: Approval from the Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren paved way for construction of a women’s college in Garhwa.

On Wednesday, Hemant Soren gave administrative approval of Rs13,61,70,700 for the construction of women’s college in Garhwa coming under the Nilambar Pitambar University, Palamu in the financial year 2022-23.

“The state government is serious about the education of adolescent girls and girls. Maha Vidyalayas are being established to provide higher education to the girls. Simultaneously, girls’ schools are being developed on the lines of model schools with the aim of covering adolescent girls with better education,” said a release issued by chief minister’s secretariat.

CM orders prosecution of DWO and assistant

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday gave sanction for prosecution of assistant in district welfare office, Palamau Manoj Kumar and district welfare officer Subhash Kumar under Section-7 (A) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Amendment Act, 2018).

The sanction was given based on the charges lodged by ST/SC minorities and backward classes department with Anti-Corruption Bureau station under Palamau Case No. 10/2021 Dated- 05.08.2021

Significantly, there were allegation of bribe of Rs 20,000 being demanded from a complainant Umashankar Baiga by the named officials misusing the official post for giving allotment against the construction of Dhumkudiya building.

The complainant did not want to pay the bribe. He informed about this to the Superintendent of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Palamu. Police Inspector Nagendra Kumar Mandal was authorized to verify this. In the course of verification, the veracity of the allegation was confirmed and the primary accused was arrested red handed with the bribe amount. In this way, the charge of taking bribe by misusing the official position of the FIR has been constituted against the accused.
