Jharkhand CM, education minister launch ‘Clean School, Healthy Children’ campaign, 35,000 schools in 263 blocks across state to be covered under awareness 

Ranchi, March 24 : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto flagged off the campaign vehicle while launching the ‘Clean School Healthy Children’ campaign 2022 from the assembly premises on Thursday.

 It is to be known that after almost two years after Covid-19, all the schools from primary level have been opened. Keeping in mind the global pandemic Corona, all the schools in the state are being fully operated from March 7, 2022, adopting the parameters of safety.

Due to the closure of schools for a long time during the Covid period, there is a need to re-activate the infrastructure of the schools and the need for special training on cleanliness and cleanliness is being felt for teachers and children.

To address these problems, the ‘Clean School Healthy Children’ campaign 2022 was launched today at the school level with the joint effort of the Department of School Education and Literacy and Unicef.

Through this campaign, efforts will be made to make schools safe and organized. The campaign will be run in all schools from 24 to 30 March 2022. Under the campaign, a cleanliness campaign vehicle will be run in all 263 blocks, which will help organize 35000 governments schools while promoting awareness on health and hygiene. In this work, UNICEF and its affiliated organizations would be providing technical support and training at the district/block, cluster and school level.

Alongside the weeklong awareness session with each van earmarked for each of the blocks there will be a month long session to provide technical support to schools in cleanliness related activities.

There will provide immediate assistance in minor repair work of damaged infrastructure in schools.

To provide necessary support to the Vidyalaya Management Committee, teachers, members of Bal Sansad, Saraswati Vahini Panchayati Raj Institutions and others for maintaining cleanliness facilities, proper behavior and awareness in schools.

A mason, a plumber and a sanitation specialist will be available in this vehicle who will assist the schools in fulfilling the above objectives.

Presently the process of Swachh Vidyalaya Award is going on. In such a situation, schools will get ample opportunity to improve their grading in this campaign and schools will also get ample opportunity to improve their grading in the clean school award competition.
