Ranchi, May 14: Unicef’s India representative Cynthia McCaffrey met Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday at the Chief Minister’s residential office in Ranchi.
On this occasion, she apprised the Chief Minister of the schemes, works and activities run by UNICEF for the overall development of children in Jharkhand. She expressed desire to work in coordination with the concerned departments of the state government to create a better environment for the protection of child rights, education, health and development of their personality. The Chief Minister praised the work of UNICEF and assured them of full support.
The Chief Minister said that government is committed to the overall development of children. Many schemes are being run to ensure that the children of state progress in every field.
“Unless children are healthy and safe, there can be no talk of their development. This is the reason why our government is working to eliminate malnutrition and many other problems in children,” said Soren.
The Chief Minister said that Unicef will get full support from the government for the overall development of children.
