Jharkhand CM announces free health facility up to Rs 15 lakh for ration card holders 

Dhanbad, June 26: Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren announced health insurance scheme enabling free medical expense up to Rs 15 lakh for ration card holders during a function in Dhanbad on Wednesday.

Soren inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 333 schemes worth about Rs 313 crore 96 lakhs and distributed assets worth about Rs 69 crore 73 lakhs among 23540 beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister announced that a new health scheme will be launched next month. In this, treatment up to Rs 15 lakh will be free. This will benefit those ration card holders who are not covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme of the Central government.

Significantly, beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat scheme are entitled free health benefits up to Rs 5 lakh.

“The government is working with the thought that Jharkhand should move forward at a fast pace on every front of development. In the last four and a half years, the government has done a great job of grooming Jharkhand and giving it a new direction amidst adverse conditions and challenges. The government’s schemes are reaching the last person of the society. The public will get the gift of a new health scheme next month. Under this scheme, people deprived of Ayushman card will get free treatment up to Rs 15 lakh. People will be able to take advantage of this health scheme on the basis of ration card only,” said Soren.

Champai Soren said that in the next three months, 40,000 youth will have government jobs in Jharkhand. For this, the concerned commission has been instructed to complete the appointment process. A campaign will be run to provide jobs to local youth in private sector companies. He said that the youth who are interested in self-employment are being given financial help under the Chief Minister Employment Creation Scheme.

The CM said that Jharkhand is a state where displacement still remains a big challenge.

“For various projects and mining operations, the land of tribals-indigenous people was acquired on a large scale, but the peasants could not get proper benefits from it. Even today the displaced are facing many problems. Our government will soon formulate a policy for the welfare and interest of the displaced people so that they can get their rights,” said Soren.

Chief Minister said that the government is committed to improving the education system. Model schools are being opened in blocks where children will get quality education on the lines of private schools and poor children here are being given financial assistance for coaching and studies so that they become engineers, doctors and officers.

The Chief Minister said that there is no such family in the state where any scheme of the government has not reached. Pension and ration are reaching every family. Many schemes are going on to empower the farmers. Loans up to two lakh rupees of farmers will also be waived. The state government has decided to give 200 units of free electricity to the poor people living in remote areas and forests and foothills of rivers and plateaus so that their homes are also lit up. Now the government is going to provide financial assistance to sisters and daughters above 25 years and below 50 years of age.
