Jamshedpur, December 1: Members of the Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce executive committee visited Parsudih Krishi Mandi on Sunday to assess its deteriorating condition. The committee expressed serious concern over the lack of essential infrastructure, including dilapidated shops, warehouses, and basic amenities.
During the inspection, the team found poorly maintained roads riddled with potholes, making transportation challenging for traders and farmers. Cleanliness and security arrangements in the market were also found severely lacking.
Local traders and farmers shared their grievances with the committee, citing insufficient water and electricity facilities, inadequate sanitation, and an absence of safety measures for traders and customers. These issues were hampering business operations in the mandi.
The chamber members assured the affected traders that their concerns would be addressed on priority. They pledged to raise the matter with the state’s newly appointed Agriculture Minister and push for immediate action to resolve the problems.
The inspection team included chamber members Shailesh Agarwal, Amit Sharma and Rohit Poddar, along with Jamshedpur Vyapar Mandal President Deepak Bhalotia, Vice President Pawan Naredi and Secretary Dilip Agarwal.
The committee emphasized the urgency of upgrading the mandi’s facilities to improve functionality and support for traders and farmers. The stakeholders were now optimistic that the government would take swift steps to revamp Parsudih Krishi Mandi and enhance its operational efficiency.
