Jharkhand Cabinet makes changes to financial assistance scheme Maiya Samman Yojana 

Aadhar linked single bank account holders to get benefit of scheme

Ranchi: The Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand cabinet made a partial amendment in the implementation of the flagship Maiya Samman Yojana at a meeting in Ranchi on Tuesday.

After March-2025, only Aadhar linked single bank account holders will get the benefit of Maiya Samman Yojana.

There are over 50 lakh beneficiaries of the monthly financial assistance scheme for poor women in the age group of 18-51 years and are entitled for Rs 2500 monthly benefits. The scheme was dubbed as the main reason for Hemant Soren retaining power for a historic second consecutive term.

The amendment was done in the implementation of the scheme after large scale fraudulent practices were detected from different parts of the state.

Altogerther 16 proposals got the nod of the cabinet whose meeting was held on Tuesday.

The Jharkhand Cabinet approved the proposal to dismiss suspended Jharkhand Administrative Service officer Sadhna Jaipuriar (then Block Development Officer, Manika, Latehar).

The Hemant Soren Cabinet has approved the formation of Jharkhand Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Special Exemption) Bill-2025. Along with this, the third supplementary expenditure statement of the financial year 2024-25 has been approved post-deduction. The cabinet has given post-deduction approval on the budget estimates for the financial year 2025-26. Post-deduction approval has been given for presenting Jharkhand Economic Survey 2024-25 on the table of the Legislative Assembly.

The cabinet also approved to regularize the services of six employees.

In the light of various orders passed by the High Court regarding regularization of service and the recommendation made in the meeting of the departmental regularization committee (18.08.2022), approval was given to confirm/regularize the services of a total of six employees.

Approval was given to relax the provision related to limited competitive examination provided in the Jharkhand Secretariat Service Rules-2010 (as amended by Departmental Notification No.-6125, dated-09.05.2012) related to promotion from the category of Assistant Branch Officer to the post of Branch Officer under Jharkhand Secretariat Service as a convenience.

In the sequence of the ongoing digitization process for the works related to state employees in the Principal Accountant General’s Office, Ranchi, financial assistance of Rs. 50 lakh 3 thousand 7 hundred was approved as the second phase.

Approval was given for the formation of Jharkhand Community Health Assistant Cadre (Recruitment, Promotion and Other Service Conditions) Rules-2025 under the Department of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare.

In view of the increase in the rate of Goods and Services Tax (GST) from 12% to 18% in place of 18% in the category of construction work, approval was given for the related payment/difference amount liability in the work contracts of the Water Resources Department.

In the light of the in-principle consent received by the State Government for the implementation of the third phase of the e-Court Project, the Cabinet has given post-deduction approval on the tripartite agreement (MOU) signed by the Principal Secretary cum Legal Advisor on behalf of the State Government as the second party.

Approval of in-principle consent has been given on the proposal of construction of Balpahari Barrage by the State Government in the downstream (D/S) of Balpahari Dam under the Balpahari Irrigation Scheme.
