Jamshedpur, September 28: The Jharkhand Boxing Association (JBA) honored international boxer Amisha Kerketta with a cheque of Rs 25,000 and a sports kit in a ceremony held at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Saturday. The award was presented in recognition of her outstanding achievement of winning a silver medal at the Asian Junior Boxing Championship held in Abu Dhabi.
Amisha Kerketta, who trains under the guidance of Dronacharya Awardee BB Mohanty at JSSPS in Ranchi, has brought pride to the state with her recent international success.
In addition to Amisha’s award, two national-level boxers, Shivani from Jamshedpur and Sneha from Dhanbad, were also recognized and presented with sports kits. Since both athletes are currently participating in the national training camp, their representatives accepted the awards on their behalf.
The award ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including JBA President Uttam Singh, Tata Steel UISL MD Rituraj Sinha, JBA Secretary Anand Bihari Dubey, Treasurer RK Verma, former JBA Secretary Dr. Dinesh Upadhyay, and Tata Steel Sports Department Chief Mukul Vinayak Choudhary.
The event highlighted the support and encouragement provided to Jharkhand’s talented athletes, showcasing the state’s commitment to promoting boxing and nurturing future champions.
