Jamshedpur, March 6: The Jharkhand Basketball Association (JBA) successfully organized first-ever Under-23 Basketball Camp for both men and women at Kerala Public School, Kadma. The 10-day camp, which runs from March 5 to March 15, 2025, was inaugurated by Sharat Chandran, Director of Kerala Public Schools, who expressed his support for the growth of basketball in the region.
Led by JP Singh, Indian Team Coach and Secretary of JBA, the camp provides expert training to 40 selected players—20 men and 20 women. These athletes were chosen based on their performance in the first Under-23 Jharkhand State Basketball Championship, held in Bokaro from February 19 to 22, 2025.
The training sessions take place twice daily, with morning sessions from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and evening sessions from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Several key officials, including Arif Aftab (Technical Head, JBA), Shabanul, Nizam, Supriya, Azhar, Amit, Anjali, and Jalal, are actively involved in the sessions.
From this camp, a final squad of 12 men and 12 women will be selected to represent Jharkhand in the first U-23 National Championship, scheduled to be held in Guwahati, Assam, from March 18 to 24, 2025.
The camp aims to enhance the players’ skills, teamwork, and competitive spirit, preparing them to perform at the national level and bring glory to Jharkhand.
