Jamshedpur, March 21: Kolhan division athletes who represented Jharkhand at the National Master Athlete Championship 2025 in Bengaluru were honored in a special ceremony at Bal Bharti Vidyalaya, Kashidih Golkata, a school run by Bharti Group Education Institute. The event recognized the outstanding performances of these athletes, who returned with historic medal wins.
Among the honorees was Kumari Geeta Rani Hansda, a teacher at the school, who won a bronze and silver medal in the championship. She was felicitated along with other medal-winning athletes by the school management.
The ceremony was attended by Bharti Group Director Ganori Prasad, Headmistress Pushpa, and faculty members including Urmila, Vishnu, Neetu, Maya, and Baby, along with hundreds of students. Addressing the gathering, Ganori Prasad expressed pride in hosting national and international medal-winning athletes, calling it a moment of honor for the school.
Senior athlete R.N. Rao (85 years old) and other winners inspired students by emphasizing the importance of sports in life. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Headmistress.
Honored athletes included B.N. Rao, Har Vilas Das, Avtar Singh, Dildar Singh, Geet Raj, Charanjit Kaur, Suresh Sawaiya, Poonam Honhaga, Manjo Sawaiya, R.N. Kundu, Anima Kundu, and Geeta Rani Hansda.
