 Demands for freedom fighter status to statehood movement leaders

Ranchi, March 10: The demand for grant of 13,686 crores of Education Department was passed in Jharkhand Assembly on Thursday. The cut motion moved by BJP MLA Anant Ojha was rejected. Responding on behalf of the government on the budget of the department, Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto said that Kovid has had an adverse effect on education. Earlier, the BJP government, in its five-year tenure, brought the education department to the brink of ruin. Para teachers used to agitate and the school remained closed. Our government solved the problem of para teacher. They only gave sticks to teachers for 5 years, put them in jail. Women were not spared either. He said that when he became the education minister, many BJP MLAs had said what the eighth pass education minister will do, but I have shown what the eighth pass education minister can do. Jagarnath Mahato also sought a proposal from BJP to improve education.

Ajsu MLA Sudesh Mahto putting this demand during the question hour said that freedom fighter status should be given to those who had fought for separate statehood and also honorarium paid to them should be increased.

Replying to this, state parliamentary affairs and rural development minister Alamgir Alam said that those who fought for freedom of the country have been granted freedom fighter status and currently there is no proposal with the government on granting freedom fighter status to separate statehood movement supporters.

JMM MLA Stephen Marandi said that the commission to identify separate statehood movement supporters not have financial powers and resources.

BJP MLA Naveen Jaiswal raised the issue of huge amount of Rs 2500 crore of nearly 3 lakh people stuck with the Sahara Parivar.

At this finance minister Rameshwar Oraon said that the matter is in SEBI and Supreme Court. On the order of the court, Sahara has deposited Rs 3400 34 thousand crores in SEBI account. The amount will be returned to the bond holders after the order of the Supreme Court.

BJP MLA, Manish Jaiswal raised the issue of 7th pay scale of 200 university employees. In response, Minister-in-Charge Mithlesh Thakur said that university employees would be given the benefit of seventh pay scale very soon.

The minister said that a meeting of all universities and AGs has been held regarding this. Earlier, the AG was directed to audit all the universities and submit the annual accounts of the 7th pay scale. Ranchi and Dumka universities have not been audited by AG. Other universities are being audited. After the audit report comes, the seventh pay scale will be implemented.

Congress MLA Rajesh Kachhap alleged that NHAI is encroaching on Kanchi irrigation project. NHAI is not even following the court’s judgment and the order of the CM’s office. He said that this project is from 1955-56. It irrigates 1 lakh hectare of land in 14 villages. The matter is also in the High Court.

Agriculture minister Badal Patralekh said that the NHAI was instructed to shift the road to the left but it is shifting the alignment to the right. Violating the order of the court and the government with its access and lobbying. On this, the Speaker directed the department to conduct an inquiry and take care that there should be no encroachment in the interest of the farmers. In-charge Minister Badal Patralekh assured the House that an inquiry would be conducted in the matter and appropriate action would be taken.

Responding to the calling attention motion of BJP MLA Manish Jaiswal in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly on Thursday, in-charge minister Mithilesh Thakur said that the benefit of seventh pay scale would be given to the university employees very soon. He said that in view of this, a meeting of the representatives of all the universities and the Accountant General has been held. Earlier, the Accountant General was directed to audit all the universities and submit the annual accounts of the seventh pay scale. Ranchi and Dumka universities have not been audited by the Accountant General.

After the arrival of the audit report, the seventh pay scale will be implemented. Earlier, MLA Manish Jaiswal said that 14 teachers and 200 employees of Vinoba Bhave University are not getting the benefits of sixth and seventh pay scales. Told that the audit report is being called from the Accountant General for a year. Until the report comes, they should be given the benefit of pay scale. Because there are many teachers and workers who are on the verge of retirement.
